Balletcore
Balletcore brings rehearsal layers and ballet-inspired details into everyday dress. A cropped crossover knit, close camisole base, short skirt, ribbed leg warmers and delicate flats give this version its recognizable shape. A neat bun and softly pink makeup carry the reference through the portrait.

History
Ballet has influenced fashion through both stage costumes and rehearsal clothes. The Museum at FIT's 2020 Ballerina exhibition documents tutu-inspired dresses, leotard-like separates and the development of ballet-derived street shoes, with a strong fashion interest from the 1930s onward. The Australian Ballet used the term Balletcore in its 2024 account of dance's continuing influence on dress.
