Dark Mori
Dark Mori builds a loose forest-inspired silhouette through dark earth colors and visible layers. A grey ruffled blouse, full black skirt, moss wool shawl and small brown suede boots combine here, with long dark waves, a light fringe and softly rounded rosy beauty.
This version develops the darker layering direction described in early-2010s Mori community writing. The four modern pieces bring crinkled linen, gathered ruffles, felted wool and suede into one original outfit.
History
Milk Teeth discussed Dark Mori in February 2012, and Dear Miss Kellie's October 2013 Mori Kei guide described a darker palette variation. Feminist Death Party's August 2013 outfit guide also proposed dark-grey layers. These dated personal accounts document use of the label rather than a verified first occurrence.
What defines the look
The upper silhouette stays loose. Cascading blouse ruffles remain visible between the open shawl edges, and the billowed sleeves end in gathered cuffs. The wool layer supplies an asymmetric diagonal over the fuller skirt; its black binding keeps the moss color distinct from the grey linen. Small brown buttons form a quiet vertical line down the skirt, ending above closely spaced gathered hem ruffles. Plain rounded boots let that full lower edge remain the main shape. Long soft waves and a light brow-length fringe connect with the gentle hair shapes described in the Mori guide. High dusty-rose cheek color, fine lashes and muted lips give the face a soft focus above the darker layers. Keep a little ankle visible so the shoes do not disappear under the skirt. A plain charcoal blouse, long black skirt and thin brown scarf offer a practical lighter combination.
