Background

Mongolia’s 2024 Olympic flag-bearer outfits by Michel & Amazonka brought the vest-over-deel combination international attention. The current Mongulai reference offers a different, longer vest format, with embroidered shoulders over a contrasting robe. Its historical product title is not used as dating evidence.

What defines the look

A deel is living clothing with many forms and uses. Follow a maker’s guidance on fit and fastening, and describe a purchased vest’s actual decoration rather than assuming its symbolism. For a coordinated outfit, choose the robe and vest together so their collars and armholes sit comfortably.
