Background
The Museum at FIT places old-school goth around 1979-83 within a much broader history of Gothic imagery. Its Gothic: Dark Glamour exhibition also considered eighteenth-century literature, Victorian mourning, horror cinema and modern design. These are connected visual references with different histories, rather than evidence of one continuous uniform or a movement originally named Gothcore.
What defines the look
