History
The V&A’s Hallyu! The Korean Wave exhibition presented South Korean fashion alongside cinema, music, fandom and beauty in 2022–2023. Its 2023 Minju Kim presentation showed bold shapes and patterned collections inspired by the Korean tale of Bari. These examples establish the breadth of the field around this quieter everyday outfit.
What defines the look
Volume works best when the edges remain clear. The shirt can be roomy through the shoulder and sleeve while a loose front tuck reveals the pleats below. Let the charcoal trousers fall in a long straight line, then stop the hem before it covers the entire loafer. A strong silver buckle gives the otherwise dark footwear a visible detail. Carry the small brown bag beside the trousers so its low rectangular shape stays distinct. For the face, wispy fringe, softly brushed straight brows and a rose lip tint complement the easy silhouette.
