History
In a 2017 terminology guide, the wearer and writer Buttcape describes Ouji, meaning prince in Japanese, as a fashion related to Lolita that reworks older menswear through fanciful modern details. The account distinguishes its trouser silhouette from Lolita's petticoat-supported skirt. Decorative shirts, fitted outer layers and coordinated trousers remain central to current Japanese designer collections.
What defines the look
Community guidance is useful because the relationship between pieces matters as much as any one item. In her 2024 account, Qiann presents coordination as a balance of shape and color, with room for varied trouser lengths, layers and footwear. Her preferences are personal rather than a fixed uniform. This version repeats small gold fastenings across separate collections and uses plain black boots to ground a decorative upper half. More colorful or less ornate coordinates remain possible.
Hair & styling details
An ash-blond layered shag and soft side fringe frame the eyes while leaving the large white bow visible. Lightly separated ends keep the shape mobile around the ears and nape.
