Paiwan Embroidery Sportswear brings a close, athletic silhouette together with textile pattern developed through a named craft collaboration. Proposed label for JUST IN XX’s Spring/Summer 2023 collaboration with Paiwan embroidery artist Ljavaus (Chen Li-you-mei). It identifies a particular contemporary runway direction, with embroidery references translated through modern textile processes.
Background
Presented in October 2022, the collaboration joined Justin Chou and Ljavaus / Chen Li-you-mei. Vogue Taiwan reported the use of cross-stitch references in new sports fabrics, prints and accessories; published looks combine fitted pieces with elaborate outer layers.
What defines the look
The source of the pattern matters as much as its colour. Prefer attributed collaboration pieces and follow the maker’s explanation of their designs. For daily styling, a single patterned garment can sit beside plain basics; the complete runway decoration is an option, not a requirement.
