Clowncore

History
Fashion has returned to clown references across decades. Vogue's 2026 account points to Vivienne Westwood's 1989 argyle, Dior's circus-themed 2019 couture show and more recent ruffs and balloon trousers. Those examples establish recurring influences rather than one inventor of Clowncore.
What defines the look
The theatrical cue can sit at the collar, in an exaggerated silhouette or on the face. Here the blouse supplies buoyant sleeves and a wide ruffle, while painted triangles, red cheeks and the red shoe repeat a playful color rhythm. Other versions use monochrome Pierrot-like layers, harlequin diamonds or dense bright accessories; the complete styling should make its chosen reference clear.
Hair & styling details

Source blouse has five buttons; the selected drawing simplifies the front to four visible buttons in the figure and detail. Check placement, ruffle folds, small buckles and pencil texture are approximate. A later attempt to remove the blouse study was rejected because it degraded fabric texture.
