Alternative clubs · Synthetic colour
Cybergoth
Also written Cyber goth
Cybergoth combines an industrial club silhouette with deliberately artificial colour and texture. Tubular synthetic hair falls, dark mesh, hardware and substantial platforms form this version. Green accents stay concentrated above the shoulders while black pleats and layered fabric give the outfit a clear base.
This is an established alternative-scene name, illustrated through one current product combination. The supporting 2023–2024 material documents continued participation; it does not establish a worldwide revival or one uniform for all goth and electronic-music audiences.
History
Jerome Jakob’s Méra Luna photographs, published in August 2023, show a complete outfit with synthetic falls, layered mesh and heavy footwear. A February 2024 participant post explicitly identifies its outfit as cybergoth. These are dated scene observations, separate from the style’s earlier history.
What defines the look
Keep the brightest material in one area so the look remains readable from a distance. The opaque underlayer gives fine mesh a clear dark backing; its sleeves still show their pattern. A pleated skirt changes shape with movement, while the platform sole provides visual weight below. Check how accessories move when you turn your head or lift your arms. You can vary the height of the boot or length of the skirt while retaining the contrast between artificial falls, dark layers and reflective hardware.
Hair & styling details
Graphic liner and a dark plum lip echo this portrait’s strong contrast; makeup intensity is optional.
Arrange falls around a secure hairstyle without pulling painfully at the roots. Keep the face clear enough to see comfortably.
An illustrated outfit study
One way to put the pieces together
Green tubular synthetic falls, layered black mesh, a hardware pleated skirt and wedge platform ankle boots make the Cybergoth vocabulary explicit. The illustration interprets visible details; it cannot establish hidden construction.

Build your own look
Pieces to start with
- Synthetic hair falls
- Choose a manageable length and attach them securely. Tubular crin and foam have a deliberately artificial texture; keep the ends clear of your eyes and jewellery.
- Layered mesh top
- Use a comfortable opaque base beneath fine mesh. Check the neck and underarms for rubbing before wearing it for a long evening.
- Hardware pleated skirt
- Eyelets and small rings supply detail without requiring many loose chains. Choose a hem and waistband that let you sit and move comfortably.
- Platform ankle boots
- A broad sole anchors the look. Pick a height you can walk in confidently; lower platforms can keep the same visual direction.

Ways to put it together
Styling suggestions from Coreification.
- Illustrated outfit: green cyberlox falls + black mesh over an opaque camisole + eyelet pleated skirt and dark tights + black platform ankle boots.
- A trouser variation: fluorescent falls + plain fitted top + wide dark trousers with compact hardware + sturdy boots. Keep the trouser hems clear of the soles.
- Practical adaptation: use a shorter pair of removable falls with a familiar black outfit and lower shoes for the evening. Add hardware only where it stays comfortable.
