Teresa Romero Martínez’s March 2026 Vogue España article describes Grandmacore through memories of restrained clothes and delicate details in Spain, using a contemporary Gracie Abrams outfit as an example. In a separate firsthand interview, artist Debra Rapoport describes her personal use of color, texture, layers and long-kept clothes. Her practice is a related example of creative dressing, not a claim that she uses the Grandmacore label.
What defines the look
Keep one nostalgic detail easy to notice. The brooch sits high on the plain cardigan, where its openwork is clearer than it would be over the dress print. The lilac knit softens the contrast between navy, cream and red in the geometric fabric. Low cutout shoes repeat the small-scale pierced detail at the feet.
