Larme Kei

Larme Kei is an international name for girly outfits influenced by LARME magazine. Sheer sleeves, tweed, velvet and ribbons can sit within compact, wearable silhouettes. A soft finish to the hair and makeup ties together fabrics that range from airy to structured.

A February 2021 FROM JAPAN guide describes readers drawing inspiration from LARME, a magazine launched in 2012. What defines the look

This interpretation balances a translucent ruffled blouse with a small, structured skirt. It does not depend on the bell-shaped volume of Lolita or the elaborate princess styling associated with Hime Gyaru. Start with one delicate texture and one firmer one, then keep the colour range small. An opaque camisole makes the sheer layer easier to wear while allowing sleeves and ruffles to remain light. Check how the waistband and blouse hem sit together when you move: a long floating peplum can soften a short skirt without hiding it. Ribbon details work best when they have room around them, rather than competing with every other trim.

Hair & styling details

Soft waves and a lightly swept fringe echo the selected EATME styling. Keep some hair behind the shoulder so the neckline and ruffles remain visible.
