Background
UniSC music researchers Andy Ward, Briony Luttrell and Lachlan Goold trace phonk back to 1990s Memphis hip-hop, then describe its later connection with Russian producers and drifting videos. Producer Ryan Celsius’s 2023 interview distinguishes the fast, forceful cowbell branch from the wider range of phonk. The clothing combination here translates the later racing imagery into everyday separates.
What defines the look
The Memphis musical roots and the later international car-video setting are different parts of this history. Kordhell’s interview with EDM.com also describes a sound that keeps changing; its accompanying close portrait shows a dark leather jacket, gloves and a face covering. That image supports a dark visual direction, but reveals no trousers or shoes. This outfit develops the motorsport side through a real team track jacket and slim racing-inspired footwear. A white tee opens up the otherwise dark torso. Keep the jacket near hip length, the trousers roomy and the shoe visually narrow; the result depends more on those proportions than on adding extra racing graphics.
Hair & styling details
Part medium dark-blond hair near the center, with light curtain sections around the temples and soft ends at the ears and nape. Keep the sides loose rather than cutting a severe fade.
