Background
In her February 2021 NYLON report, Maria Bobila interviewed Royalcore and Princesscore wearers about their elaborate dresses, tulle and romantic imagery. The report also describes the attention encouraged by Bridgerton. The modern tulle gown shown here is an editorial interpretation of that grandeur.
What defines the look
The full skirt and decorated neckline do most of the work. Keep the gloves plain so their smooth surface contrasts with the fine tulle, and choose a low tiara that sits inside the hairstyle instead of towering above it. Half-up waves lift the crown of the head while loose lengths soften the shoulders. Blue fabric flowers bring the eye back toward the face; ivory repeats at the hands and feet. The drawing lifts the front hem to show the shoes, but the actual gown has a floor-length skirt and front slit. For everyday wear, retain one generous skirt shape and one ornate upper detail.
Hair & styling details
Gather the upper section of long softly waved hair into a small lifted half-up shape. Let two fine curls frame the face and place the tiara just behind them.
Use gray-brown liner, a small inner-eye highlight and soft pink cheeks and lips. A gentle luminous finish complements the light tulle without competing with its flower clusters.
