Background
Synthwave looks back to the electronic sounds and imagined futures of the 1980s. In a 2017 Bandcamp interview, NewRetroWave founder Ten. S described that decade as a central inspiration and traced his project to a website launched in 2011. The label brought together both energetic and darker music. This outfit follows the brighter retro-sportswear side of that visual mood.
What defines the look
Let the pink jacket occupy most of the upper half. Its standing collar, center zip and ribbed cuffs create a simple trackwear outline, while three maroon stripes run from the neck along the sleeves. Keep the body loose enough to fall over the jeans without pulling at the zip. The dark stripes connect the jacket to the black denim below. Straight ankle-length jeans keep the lower half quiet. Their clean hem leaves the white canvas shoes readable, including the rubber toe caps and thin colored sole lines. Pink sunglasses repeat the jacket color, with teal lenses providing the cool highlight familiar from neon-sunset imagery. A loose high ponytail and a little pink at the lips complete the upbeat character.
